Sustainable microelectronics, education and circular transformation

GreenChips-EDU is a European project developing education and skills for sustainable microelectronics. It connects universities, research, industry and SMEs and brings together technological development with sustainability, energy efficiency, circularity and new educational formats.

R.U.S.Z. contributes within GreenChips-EDU particularly on the connections between sustainable electronics, education and policy transfer. The central question is how technological innovation can be embedded in structures that support longer product lifetimes, repairability, resource efficiency, cooperation and social participation. Within the project we focused especially on Circular Ecosystems.

This section will provide materials and work developed in and around the project during and after the project, including:

Circular Ecosystems
Approaches for understanding the actors, infrastructures, material flows and forms of cooperation required for sustainable electronics.

Education & Learning Formats
Teaching materials, sustainability hackathons and interactive formats that connect technological knowledge with systems thinking and practical experimentation.

Policy & Transfer
Policy briefs and recommendations translating project experience into questions of European industrial policy, skills, circularity, resilience and long-term implementation.

Sustainable Electronics
Work on repair-friendly design, resource use, product longevity, shared infrastructure and the wider transformation of electronics beyond recycling.

GreenChips-EDU provides a practical field in which technological, educational, ecological and institutional perspectives meet. The aim of this section is to make these connections visible and to develop them further beyond the boundaries of an individual project.

GreenChips-EDU is funded by the European Union under the Digital Europe Programme.
